In Sept, 2009, to many people’s surprise, Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, President of Google Greater China and VP of Engineering left Google to start his own Innovation-works (http://en.innovation-works.com/ ). Why? Many of us asked. He was doing so well in China, for Google.

Eight months has passed, some of these people may realize that he made a good decision. Without Dr. Lee’s leadership, Google has lost most of its China market. It is not that Dr. Lee could not leave Google, but that Google could depart with Dr. Lee. In my opinions, Google’s decision to leave China was because they didn’t find a way to communicate with China. We all hope that China should have better human rights, but we need patience. Maybe many of us Americans do not understand that the human rights in the America are no better ( think about the health care that most Americans get and the treatment given to those illegal immigrants. ). American style democracy is not the solution for all countries.
Dr. Lee really understands what China needs. We should all appreciate his efforts and contribution. People who don’t understand might call him coward. In reality, he is a hero for many young starters and entrepreneurs.
